Liz Bradbury provides details about new anti-discrimination law to Lehigh County Humanists

Liz Bradbury Highlights Lehigh County’s Progressive Antidiscrimination Protections in Presentation to Lehigh Valley Humanists

Liz Bradbury, Executive Director of Keystone Equality and one of Pennsylvania’s most seasoned advocates for LGBTQ+ civil rights, recently delivered a detailed and engaging presentation on local antidiscrimination law to the Lehigh Valley Humanists. Bradbury brought both historical perspective and policy expertise to the conversation.

During the session, she walked attendees through the comprehensive and notably progressive language of the Lehigh County Human Relations Ordinance, the strongest nondiscrimination laws in the Commonwealth. Bradbury explained how the ordinance protects residents in employment, housing, and public accommodations, and she highlighted the broad range of protected classes included in the law, from sexual orientation and gender identity to race, religion, disability, veteran status, and family status.

She also emphasized how Lehigh County’s ordinance reflects years of community advocacy and coalition‑building, demonstrating what is possible when local leaders commit to fairness and evidence‑based policy. Bradbury discussed how the Humanists can stay engaged to help advocate for needed change.
