Keystone Equality’s statement on Renee Good

January 16, 2026 – For Immediate Release

We at Keystone Equality mourn the loss of Renee Good on Wednesday, January 7th and send our condolences to her friends, family, and immediate community. Community, however, transcends boundaries dividing states and counties. Renee Good was one of our own, a woman fighting against tyranny, and we condemn her needless death.

As authoritarianism rises, we must stand visibly against ICE whose abuse of power extends far past the death of Renee Good. Now more than ever, it’s crucial we do our part in protecting vulnerable members of our community, whether through protesting, mourning, or direct mutual aid.

If feasible, we call you to:

  • Attend vigils and demonstrations that both honor Renee Good’s life and demand accountability from our public servants (elected officials, federal agents, etc.)

  • Support organizations providing legal advocacy and resources to immigrant communities such as United We Dream (youth-led), Immigrant Defenders Law Center (legal aid), HIAS Pennsylvania (legal/social services), and PIRC (free immigration legal aid)

  • Document and report ICE’s overreach in the region (PA hotline: 1-888-214-6016)

  • Build care networks that protect our neighbors, friends, and family

Keystone Equality remains committed to fighting for justice and dignity for all people. We will not be silent. We will not stand aside. When the community stands together, we are stronger than those who try to oppress us.
